Reed Brothers is recognized as the oldest dealership under the same family ownership in Maryland, and one of the oldest in the entire nation. Lewis Reed and his brother Edgar, were the first to sell Dodge cars in Montgomery County Maryland. Reed Brothers was franchised as a Dodge dealership in October 1915 less than one year after the first Dodge automobile rolled off the assembly line. We were a family-owned and operated car dealership in Rockville, Maryland for almost a century. Lewis Reed, the founder of Reed Brothers Dodge was my grandfather. The first two trees were planted on the north bank of Tidal Basin in March 1912, and they still stand today.The first donation of 2,000 trees, received in 1910, was burned on orders from President William Howard Taft.
